2015 NBA All- Star Attire!

We now in the midst of the 2014-2015 NBA season. What is the time every NBA fan and player looks forward to (besides playoffs of course)? ALL- STAR WEEKEND! This season All-Star activities will be held in New York City at Madison Square Garden. Players get a weekend to kick back and enjoy each other. Fans get to see their favorite players come together and see the best dunks and great skills. Waiting for the unveiling of the uniforms and other attire is like waiting for Christmas, well kind of! :) Here is the attire for All-Star weekend:
All attire is made by sponsor Adidas. As far as the uniforms, compared to previous years I think they are quite plain. I understand not having a lot going on. But can we get some stars, extra stripes maybe. However, I do like the All-Star warm-ups that the players will be wearing during the starting line-up ceremonies. Jackets still include matches for number of championships, league MVP, finals MVP, all-star appearances, all-star MVP, etc. Which has always been a future I have liked about the warm-ups. What your opinion on the All-Star attire?

Too much!!

So I am a huge Atlanta Falcons fan. Normally I wear something with the team name or logo or just the team colors to the game to represent. However, we have all seen those crazy fans, whether on TV or in person, that are going all out for their team!
Like this guy...
Or this guy...

Or even this guy...
Can't forget the one and only Oakland Raiders fans..
And last but not least the lady who has earned the name "Bird Lady"

Are they doing too much or just making a statement? In my opinion, there is a limit. If I cannot recognize you as a person or you are baring too much skin.. you are doing too much! However, some are just cool to look at and only imagine how long it took them to come up with that outfit. Maybe I am bias, but I actually like the "Bird Lady" and all her "Falconness"! After all there is now a Fan Hall of Fame for fans just like this, the ultimate fan.
So what do you'll think? Are they doing too much?

Throwback Thursday: 2014 ESPY Awards Red Carpet

The "Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards", also known as the ESPY Awards, was held on June 16, 2014 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The athletes and celebrities that attended the ceremony brought their A-game when it came to the fashion on the red carpet. One person that brought the fashion inside was the host of it all, Drake. His most memorable outfit was his imitation of Russell Westbrook.
Well done Drake, well done!
I can say I had two favorite red carpet looks that night..

First, Keri Hilson and Serge Ibaka. I like that they matched each other with all black. The high low detail of Keri's dress gives her the "formal yet fun" look. The lace in detail of her dress and the pattern of Serge's jacket gives the pop they need to set off their all black. However, my most favorite look came from Danny Green. I love a classic dinner jacket look. To me the dinner jacket look says, "I'm mature and classy." Danny gave the look a different twist by wearing grey pants instead of the usual black. It was very clean cut, original, yet different look to show off his own style.

My least favorite look was that of Laila Ali. I love Laila Ali as an athlete and I think she is absolutely beautiful but her red carpet look was not flattering. The mermaid style blue dress did not complement her built figure and the coral belt just did not work for me. It would have been nice to see her in something a little shorter, maybe even in a high-low dress as well. Show off those nice legs Laila!

I would like to know some looks that are your favorite from this years ESPYs! I can not wait until next year to see more red carpet looks.

Basketball Legend or Fashion Icon?

Russell Westbrook is known as the fast paced point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the other half of Durant/Westbrook duo. However, he is now being known for his crazy or should I say "different" pre game and post game fashion statements.

It would only be right that Westbrook took an opportunity to create his own clothing line. In July of this year Westbrook partnered with Barneys New York, in cooperation with Jordan Brand, to create The Russell Westbrook XO Barneys New York collection. Multi-color Elephant print is a theme of his collection seen on dri-fit shirts, basketball shorts, jackets, and sports tights. Along with popular fashion themes such as leather and color block. The collection also includes some items such as luggage, sunglasses, wallets, and shoes. Having an expensive taste is a requirement for purchasing these fashionable items. So, unfortunately his collection is not for the average bargain shopper. However, high prices has to equal high quality right? Let's hope so.

Now lies the question, will Russell Westbrook be known in the books as a basketball legend, fashion icon, or both? Either way, congratulations on the success Mr. Westbrook.

To wear this outfit that Westbrook is sporting in this picture would cost you: $195 for the dri-fit running shirt, $215 for the dri-fit basketball shorts, and $165 for the sport tights.for a grand total of $575 (plus tax).

Game Day Runway

Whether you are the "girly girl" or the "sporty girl" lets face it, we all want to look cute on game day! So I have put together two looks for the cool fall weather that would be perfect for the game day runway.

The "Girly Girl" Look
I feel the "girly girl" look is just a notch down from wearing heels and a dress to the game. More dainty but still representing your team. I have styled this look with a cardigan that has the team logo on the chest, a sequin team color tank to wear underneath, skinny dark wash jeans, knee high riding boots, a team logo charm bracelet, hoop earrings, and a small clutch bag.

The "Sporty Girl" Look
The "sporty girl" look is the more rough and tough one. It says "I'm the die hard fan yelling at the ref" but "I'm still a girl that wants to look cute and fabulous." With this look, it may be really easy to go overboard with the team logo ( or is there such a thing!). I have styled this look with the team football jersey, a long sleeve white shirt to wear underneath (you can't cover up the team name and logos right?), a team logo beanie, skinny ripped jeans, boots, stud earrings, beaded team logo bracelet, and a cross body satchel.

Although these may be two different looks or even looks that can be put together, the same make-up, hairstyle, and nails can work for both looks.
I would go with a gold smoky eye for make-up, loose wand curls for the hairstyle, and a simple manicure (in the team colors of course) for the nails to set off your "girly girl" or "sporty girl" look for the game day runway!
